AB-7659         NEW!            $225

3" x 1-3/4" silverplate deco compact from the 1930s. The front only has a swirly and line design in the silverplate and then it's covered with enamel in red, green, black and white so you can see the design through the enamel. Finger ring to carry the compact. The back is plain. The inside has a mirror on one side and the opposite side was for powder and rouge, still there under foil, with puff. Marked RMCo. On the inside. Not sure which company this is but they made a nice fun deco compact!

3" x 2-1/2" sterling heart shaped compact! Made by the Hingeco company in the 1930s, it's marked on the back. The front is a brushed looking silver with a smaller raised sterling heart in the upper corner. The back has a wavy pattern in the silver. The inside has the mirror on one side and the unused heart shaped powder sifter and puff. Adorable compact that can actually be used today! No dents, dings or noticeable damage to the silver.

AB-100          NEW!           $168

2-3/4" x 2-1/4" oval shaped compact. The entire compact is black enamel and the top has a white enamel center with purple flowers and green leaves.  It has a gold tone border on the edges and the push clasp is gold tone. It's 1/2" thick. The inside has the area for the loose powder on one side with sifter and puff. The opposite side has the metal mirror that lifts up to reveal the unused rouge, still there with puff and label with instructions on how to re-order rouge and puffs! It's marked BBCo on the inside for Bliss Brothers. They were from Attleboro, MA and made nice quality enamel compacts in the 1930s. No damage to the enamel. Sweet compact!

2-1/4" x 1-3/4" silver plate compact with a wrist chain. The top only has bright blue enamel with black enamel corners. In the center there is a pink enamel flower with green leaves. The back has a nice line design in the silver plate. The inside has a mirror on one side with rouge, no puff. The opposite side held the loose powder. No company identification. No damage to the enamel and it closes tightly. Cute 1930s compact!

3" square unused 1940s wooden compact with raised wooden scottie dogs horse on the lid! It has a tight hinge and opens and closes correctly. The inside has a round mirror on one side and the other side was for the loose powder. It still has the powder screen and unmarked puff. No company identification. No damage. Fun compact!

2-1/2" x 2-1/4" odd shaped silver plate compact with wrist chain. The front only has pretty blue enamel with a pink enamel flower with green leaves. The back is silverplate and has a line design in the silverplate. The front lifts up to reveal the crescent shape mirror on one side (showing discoloration), along with rouge, still there under foil. The opposite side was for loose powder, with puff. No damage or repairs to the enamel. No company id, snaps tightly closed. Sweet 1930s compact!

2-1/4" square shaped silverplate compact with wrist chain with black enamel on the front and back. The front only has pink and blue enamel flowers with green leaves. The top lifts up to reveal the rouge on one side. Then there is the metal mirror that lifts up to show the powder area, with puff. No missing black enamel, normal surface wear to the enamel (glare in the photos!). No company id, but looks like an Elgin American compact. From the 1930s. Unusual looking compact.

2-1/2" x 1-1/8" silverplate compact with wrist chain. The front has a 1-1/2" raised round enamel section with white enamel background with a blue bird sitting on a branch! Nice detail to the silverplate on the front and back. The raised closure knob is secure and the compact opens/closes correctly. The inside has a mirror on one side along with the used rouge section, no puff. The opposite side was for the loose powder, empty, no puff. No company identification. Sweet 1930s compact.

The opposite side has the lift up section for the powder, empty, with puff. No company identification. Very bright, clean gold tone, no scratches. Cute 1930s compact!

2-1/8" square silverplate compact with wrist chain. The front only has a 1" diamond shaped black and white enamel scene of a windmill! The rest of the front and back has a nice design in the silverplate. The inside has a crescent shaped mirror on one side with unopened rouge and the opposite side has the unopened powder cake with puff. Opens/closes correctly. No damage to the silverplate or enamel. No company id. Sweet 1930s compact!

AB-8883                     $275

A 3-1/2" round green enamel unused telephone dial compact!!The green enamel is all intact, no chips, flakes, crazy or missing area. The numbers on the phone dial are in white enamel with red and black numbers and letters, no damage. The center front area was never monogrammed and is in top condition. The back brassy area is in top condition also, barely showing any surface markings. The inside mirror is in good condition, just a small discoloration area. The opposite side was for loose powder, it's empty and includes an unused powder screen and powder puff. This compact was made in the late 1940s-early 1950s and was made in black and blue enamel also. Always fun to find figural compacts and the phone dial is a great addition to any compact collection.

Never used 3" x 3" gold tone Wadsworth enamel compact! The front only has a deep blue enamel border with an ivory colored enamel background. In the center is a double eagle insignia in a bronzey color. The words Cumberland, MD 1948 is below the eagle. So this was a 1948 Cumberland, Maryland souvenir compact! The back is all gold tone and is scratch free. The inside has the mirror on one side and the lift up section for loose powder with unused marked puff on the other side. The compact comes with the original cloth pouch and blue Wadsworth box. This is a very clean compact and a great addition to your collection!

2" round silver plate compact with the original 1" chain leading up to the original 1" round lipstick pot. The compact section is black enamel on both sides with a white enamel dog on the front, looks like a type of terrier. The back is all black enamel. No damaged or missing enamel, just minor surface markings if you hold it under a light. (Camera glare in photo, the black enamel is even in color) The inside has a mirror on one side, cracked. The opposite side was for the powder, still there with puff. Snaps tightly closed. The lipstick pot cover closes tightly and you just lift it up to open it and the original red icky lipstick is still inside! The back of the lipstick pot is silver plate. No company identification, but the Vashe company is the only company I know that made this type of compact with an attached lipstick pot in the 1930s. It's a great fun compact for your collection!

3-1/2" x 1-3/4" silverplate deco compact by Evans. It has a nice attached finger ring and a nice design all over the silver plate. The front only has a raised area with bright red, black and cream enamel with silver overlay. No damage to the enamel. The inside has a mirror and rouge on one side, still partially under foil. The opposite side has the partial powder cake under partial foil, along with a puff. The foils are marked Evans and it's also marked Evans below the mirror. It snaps tightly closed. No damage. Sweet 1930s deco compact!

2-1/4" round brassy compact with a cute enamel scene on the front only. It shows a lady wearing a hat with pink blouse sitting under a tree. She's talking with a man. They are surrounded by farm animals! No damage to the enamel. The inside has a mirror on one side and the opposite side was for loose powder. It comes with a cute unused pink embroidered puff, not sure if it's original, but it fits nicely inside. It's marked Germany on the back. Sweet 1930s compact!

1-1/2" round silverplate compact with a cute enamel scene on the front! The scene is very detailed and colorful, showing a couple sitting in a garden. It has black enamel around the top with silver designs in the enamel. The back is all black enamel and shows normal surface markings. No missing enamel to the front or back. The inside has a metal mirror on one side that lifts up to reveal the rouge, still there. The opposite side has the lift up section for the powder, with puff. It's marked BBCo on the inside. Bliss Bros. made some unusual compacts in the 1930s, usually larger and more ornate than this one, so this is a nice surprise to find such a different one made by this company.

3-1/4" round, plastic compact that resembles a plaid tam!! The front lift up section is framed in a brassy metal around bright red plastic. The rest of the compact is the plaid design. The inside has a mirror on one side and the opposite side is for the loose powder. It came with a cute puff, but not sure it's original. No damage, closes tightly. Circa 1930s.

The opposite side held the loose powder. No company identification. No damage to the enamel and it closes tightly. Cute 1930s compact!

1-3/4" square silverplate compact on a chain. Cute white/blue/red/yellow enamelled design in the upper left corner. Nice line design in the silverplate on the front and back. The inside has a lift up section on one side that reveals the rouge, still partially intact. The opposite side was for loose powder, with puff. No company id. (Camera flash marks!) Great condition, sweet looking compact, circa 1930s.

The opposite side was for loose powder, no puff. No company id. Sweet 1930s compact!

3-1/2" x 3" gold tone Volupte "lucky purse" compact in box! The compact is shaped like a purse, all gold tone in color, no scratches or wear. It opens to reveal a mirror in the lid. The opposite side opens to the empty powder well, no puff. It's marked Volupte on the inside. The box is in great shape showing practically no wear! This must have sat in a drawer for the past 60 years! Fun compact!

2-1/2" round gold tone unused Evans enamel compact with gold tone mesh pouch. The lid has bright white enamel with center pink rose with green leaves. The bottom is gold tone mesh. The inside has the mirror on one side and the opposite side was for loose powder with marked peach colored puff. No damage, top unused condition. Circa 1930s.

3" x 3" odd shaped, 10 sided sterling and blue enamel compact. Absolutely beautiful color blue with nice line designs that look like it's radiating. The back is all silver. The inside has a mirror on one side and the opposite side has the unused puff. No damage to the enamel, the enamel is very even, those are camera flashes! This is an english compact and it has the hallmarks on the inside. They are the anchor (Birmingham), Lion (sterling) M (for the year 1936). It also has the initials B&C representing a company logo. Great heavy compact and always fun to find those made in England!

2" round gold tone compact with great enamelled top with a terrier dog in the center. The back has a nice design in the gold tone and and along the front and back edges. The center enamel is bright green and the dog is in black and white with a gold outline. The inside has a crescent shape mirror on one side, along with the rouge, still there, no puff. The opposite side was for the loose powder, empty, no puff. No company id. Great 1930s compact in top condition!

2-1/4" squared compact with pretty blue enamel on both sides. The front also has darker blue enamel with a lady silhouette in the center. The back is solid blue, showing normal wear in the center, no missing enamel. The inside has a mirror on one side and the other side has the empty powder section, no puff and a lift up section that was for rouge, empty. On the bottom of the tiny rouge section it has reorder info printed on the base metal. This was an "Elgina" compact, a company out of New York, according to the information! Sweet silhouette compact from the 1930s in top condition.

3" x 1-1/2" silverplate 1930s Elginite compact in a different shape with wrist chain! The front and back has a nice design in the silverplate. The top center has a pretty yellow enamelled center with purple and yellow flower with green leaves. The inside has a mirror on one side and the opposite side was for loose powder, rouge and lipstick (empty, no puffs). It's marked Elginite EAM on the back. No damage. I don't see this shape too often, fun!

2-1/2" round Evans mesh pouch compact from the 1930s. Fun compact as the top has ornate gold tone open designs with several different sizes of tourquoise colored glass pieces. The bottom is gold tone mesh. The inside has a mirror on one side and the opposite side was for loose powder. It has a puff, but I'm not sure it's original. It's marked Evans on the inside. Great condition to the mesh bottom and top of compact. Different and cute!

5" x 3-1/4" never used Elgin American cigarette and lighter combo! The front has a nice swirly floral design with plate for a monogram. The back is plain. The inside has the protective bar to hold the cigarettes in place. When you close the cigarette section the lighter flicks and would be ready to light your cigarette! It's marked inside. Never used and shows practically no surface wear. Could definitely be used today! From the 1930s.

3-3/4" x 2" silverplate compact with rounded sides. Nice line designs on the front and back, along with ornate designs in the edge. The front has a center blue enamel scene of a blue bird with red/yellow coloring. He's sitting on a branch looking at a tiny gold colored bird in the sky! The inside has a mirror section on one side (missing) and the opposite side was for loose powder, rouge, lipstick and perfume! It has one puff, the lipstick is complete and the glass vial for perfume is in the holder, but it's missing the tiny stopper. No damage to the enamel. It's marked DFB on the inside for the DF Briggs company. They made great compacts with nice insides in the 1930s!

3-1/4" x 2-1/2" x 1/2" (thick) silverplate compact with a wrist chain. There is a center enamel medallion on the front that measures 1" x 1/2" and has a pretty blue enamel background with grass and a yellow swan. There is a nice line design in the silverplate on the front and back. The inside has a mirror on one side (slight discoloration spots). The opposite side has the sections for the loose powder and rouge, still there, with puffs. There are also coin slots for a nickel and dime. Normal surface marks on the silverplate, no damage to the enamel. Sweet 1930s compact, marked LAB Company on the inside.

2-1/2" x 2-1/4" silverplate enamel deco compact on chain. The front and back are a pretty blue enamel. The front also has an enamel yellow triangle with black center. The chain has blue enamel links, some enamel off the links. The inside has a mirror on one side and the empty loose powder section on the other.  It's marked EAM on the inside rim. Normal surface markings visible on the enamel under a loupe, tiny tiny scratch on the left side and the smallest of enamel missing around the hinge. None of this detracts. Sweet 1930s deco Elgin American compact!

2-1/8" x 3-1/2" (including the finger ring) gold tone enamelled compact with attached finger ring. The front only has pretty swirly green enamel, lighter green enamel and then bright yellow enamel. The back is gold tone with a design in the gold tone. The inside has a crescent shaped mirror on one side along with the rouge section, partial foil over the rouge, no puff. The opposite side is for loose powder, with puff. No company identification, no damage to the enamel. Sweet deco compact from the 1930s!

2-1/4" odd shaped silverplate compact on a chain with enamel flowers and blue bird! The front only has white enamel with green leaves and reddish flowers. There's a pretty blue enamel bird flying over the flowers. Nice etched design in the silverplate along the edge. The back has a nice line design in the silverplate and is monogrammed with the initial "E" in a center area. The inside has a crescent shaped mirror and rouge area (mostly empty, no puff) on one side and the other side has the area for loose powder (empty, no puff). No damage to the enamel, normal surface marks noticeable under loupe. No company identification. Cute! Circa 1930s.

4-1/4" x 3" gold tone never used Volupte vanity with original black silk-like carry case. Gold tone shows practically no wear! Inside has a mirror on one side. The other side has a lift up section to hold bills/kleenex, lipstick and a lift up section for the loose powder. It has the original unused marked puff with a reorder form for puffs! Marked Volupte on the lift up compact section. Black carrying case has a pocket on one side with a snap. Terrific overall condition!
