3" x 2" silverplate Evans company jeweled
and enamelled cigarette case from the 1930s. I've had the identical item
before except the inside was a compact with rouge and powder from Evans.
They made a lot of cigarette and lighter items as well as compacts over
the years. The front only has a swirly design in the silverplate. There
are red and blue rhinestones along with a long oval shaped blue enamel
center with a pink enamel flower. There are also blue and white enamel
flowers along the edges, some enamel is off these tiny flowers, but it
seems to blend right in. There is a wrist chain to hold the case. The back
is plain. It opens from the top but then you flip the lid to the right,
like turning a page backwards! There are the original hinged flaps that
held the contents in place. Most like for cigarettes. It's a bit too small
for a business card. Fun and unusual! |
